Another Little Gem-Kitchen Experiences-What Works and What Doesn't

The kitchen in my own house did not look functional at first glance. It has a total of 5 cabinets!
Originally it had a coat closet sized opening with lumber shelving and a curtain over it as the balance of the storage. Food, Dishes, and Small Appliances were all stored behind the curtain.

What works:

This is the most functional kitchen I have ever had. It is great for entertaining and cooking! I made a couple changes from the original "coat closet" storage. I reclaimed space under the stair case and made it a pantry . A client gave me a beautiful display cabinet which I inserted where the coat closet was. He also gave me another cabinet which I put
in the adjacent dining room. All the small appliances are store there. Otherwise, it is just me and my 5 cabinets!

The secret to the awkward storage arrangement is to have the most used preparation and cooking items in the work triangle. Every cabinet is organized for convenience with items right where I need them. The key to the small kitchen is to analyze what equipment you use the most, and arrange it right where you use it.
