What's new in Tile

Here are of the strongest offerings in tile according to my "inside source"

Tile with the look and shape of hardwood floors. I have seen this product before, and have specified it for bathrooms. Personally, I just loved this tile. I still have my "beach house" design kicking around in my mind, waiting for that client that wants me to design a beach house! It was introduced, and then quickly discontinued a few years ago. I was speaking with a representative for a tile company who agreed with me that it came out "before its time". We are both happy that it is a new introduction for a few manufacturers this year.

Tile that looks like marble. The tile with the look of polished marble was out out out, but now is being introduced again. One of my favorite on top of trend tile companies immediately knew what I was talking about and brought me samples of the new tile that looks like marble.

This brings me to the shape, which is key for the marble and the wood look. The elongated rectangle is the most important shape in tile. This look has been available for a while, but is still gaining strength.

Metal patina looks have been shown for a long time, but have new introductions this year. This will lead to my next post, on color, again...
